A leader

A leader is a person who has a passion for helping people succeed to the next level and they push for a better future. Leaders should be responsible, respectful, intelligent and brave. People should feel protected and comfortable with the person in charge. This guarantees a successful following. Beowulf and Macbeth were two different types of leaders. Once was a successful leader while the other allowed negative traits to lead him down a path of destruction.
Beowulf was an excellent leader. He protected his people by killing dangerous dragons that threatened his people. Killing these creatures took intelligence and bravery, The type of brave people did not have with them. Beowulf volunteered to see who and what this maniac was that was causing harm in a land far from his own. Because of his courageousness deeds he was eventually king. The kingship came with great responsibility. Beowulf had to step out of his comfort zone to lead the people the right way. He was a positive leader and role model.
Macbeth is an example of an unsuccessful leader because of his manipulative and lack of respect for anyone except his self. Macbeth killed many people to become king. In contrast Beowulf killed to protect his people. Beowulf seems to be more of a leader because in the film Beowulf risked his life to kill dragons so his people would be safe. Macbeth lacks integrity and loyalty to his comrades and to the people of the kingdom. He employs hit seen to kill Banquo, his war buddy all is an effort to stay king. This is not the character trait of a good and successful leader.
A good leader must have integrity; he must be responsible and respectful. Macbeth is very selfish and posses the qualities of a good leader because Beowulf doo plays the qualities of a successful leader because he is respectful compassionate, loyal and responsible.
Beowulf and Macbeth do not share the same mindset about what a true leader is. They do not have the same qualities. While Beowulf was an outstanding king, models demonstrating responsibility, courage and compassion. Macbeth was his opposite. Macbeth does not portray leadership qualities and therefore was destroyed in the end by his followers.
